Kitchen Design Trends for 2018

January 23, 2018 By AccoladeKB 1 Comment

The National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) surveyed designers, remodelers, architects, dealers and manufacturers in the US and Canada to take the pulse of what features and products most in-demand by homeowners and buyers. Here’s a closer look at what they found:

Styles: The top 3, Farmhouse, Transitional and Contemporary

Color Schemes: White and Gray continue their dominance

Cabinetry: Paint is still the leader

Cabinet Accessories: Pull-Out waste / Recycling Cabinets, Cookie Sheet / Tray Dividers and Deep Drawer Organizers lead the group

Counter Tops: Quatrtz leads the Consumer Counter Top Preferences

Faucets: Single-Handle and Pull-Down Faucets dominated the Survey Preferences

Flooring: Hardwood Floors have been Trending in the Kitchens with Porcelain and Ceramic close behind

Sinks: Stainless Steel still leads by a wide margin

Refrigeration: Refrigerator / Freezer Columns have been Trending but French Door Styles still leads the pack

Cooking: Gas Cooktops lead the Pack followed by Induction, Convection Ovens are still very popular

Lighting: Under-Cabinet Lighting was the most popular, next Recessed Fixtures and Pendants ranking third

Technology: Tech remains less in-demand compared to other features like Wall-Mounted Flat Screens and Docking / Charging Stations
